Ha! Just realized I still have an old "Screams & Whispers" tour longsleeve shirt with glow-in-the-dark print. No, I never saw them live, but an old girlfriend did I think I got it as a birthday present back then. Think I'll just might glow in the dark at next KIT Cool

never liked them too much, Suffering Hour is a nice album, other than that, dispensable.

Well if we're discussing them for 3 pages perhaps that's a clue they're worthwhile.

I have to go with Screams And Whispers. I like all of their albums a great deal, but Screams has a nostalgic claim on me that can't be broken.

Back in the day me and my buddies used to try and outdo one another in finding new bands. We'd all go to the music store and buy shit based completely off of cover art, band logo, etc. LOTS of hit and miss involved, but I lived in a small-ish city and not many stores carried the latest metal rags for us to look through.

Anacrusis - Screams And Whispers was one of my purchases (completely went off the band logo). None of my buddies really dug them, as they weren't fast enough, brutal enough, whatever. I, however, was entranced by the songwriting, technical playing, and completely WILD vocal approach of Kenn Nardi. That cassette was worn slap the fuck out by the time I got through with it!

As much of a thrash die-hard as I am, you'd think I'd love Suffering Hour the most. Screams And Whispers can only VERY loosely be tied to the genre. I can never shake the charm of remembering my first listen to that album, though. I had honestly NEVER heard anything like it before at the time.

Wow...

This is the first time that I've heard about this...

I'm looking forward to it.

I like all the albums. But the first one is my favorite. It's much more aggressive than the others.

For me the latter records are much more interesting than the initial thrash stuff. Very forward thinking band with real emotion at its core. It's difficult to pick a favourite.

has anyone heard the new anacrusis release Hindsight: Suffering Hour & Reason Revisited? At first i almost jumped for joy thinking they were reissues but i hear that they're actually rerecordings, which obviously got me skeptical

the re-recording of Suffering Hour sounds really well (not too modern, but much more powerful), and the band performance (the vocals too!) are top notch after all those years. But... I disagree with the band that original Suffering Hour was badly produced - I really like its production which gives the album an extraordinary live-like atmosphere. Thats why I still prefer the original sound.

Screams and Whispers, probably because this is the first Anacrusis album I ever heard and it kinda blew away my senses firstly I could not fathom a band, back then (I'm a youngster, pardon me Cool ) I remember listening to this album for about 3/4 days on repeat and by the time I could finally get it right in my head, I knew I was a certain devotee.

Unfortunately, it so did not happen with their other material, even now, if I have to listen to Anacrusis, the first thing that pops in my head is Screams and Whispers.
