How many Mercyful Fate shows have you been to in the last 13 years?

none, obviously Wink

understood it as this thread was about the "reunion" thing and not the rarity of live appearances.. did not follow their way since the 90s too accurate but had no idea they split up again officially

I don't think they ever announced the band broke up but they haven't done anything since 1999. And in the last years they were active King and Sherman were the only original members, Denner has not played with them on stage since 1996 and Hansen not since 1993.

We are lucky this forum has degenerated into just talking about events like this that are not news.
Now tell me that Hallows Eve or Liege Lord or etc. reunited with the original lineup and sound just like the first album and you might get some real enthusiasm going.

Well, it surprises me that no one here's talking about the kinda "reunion" that Mercyful Fate had a few days ago.

Probably because most members on this forum would not care about any news relating to Mercyful Fate unless it concerned something like the unearthing of a previously unknown pressing variation of the Nuns Have No Fun vinyl EP, or the discovery of a curious discrepancy in the matrix number of original Melissa cd's originally thought to be of the same press run.

True ...

Another possibility: Any song, even the most classic Mercyful Fate track, sounds crap when played by Metallica ... Twisted Evil
