Certain RIOT tracks are pure RAINBOW-worship.

One of the most underrated/shamefully forgotten albums in this great style is the Dutch FRANKIE WOODHOUSE's "Something In The Air" album (actually a double-12") from 1984. 3 of the songs from this gem was also recorded earlier under the LADY-monicker on a 12" EP.

FRANKIE WOODHOUSE's "Something In The Air" is not forgotten here, it is a classic. Lady 12" is too for that matter.

Good to hear! It's funny though.. something about those albums released under the name of a bandmember always invokes scepticism, even in me. You always expect them to be some self-indulgent guitarwankery or whatnot ...not so this time.

Found a blogpost w/ the LADY ep for download: http://metal666anarchy.blogspot.com/2009/09/lady-ladykiller-ep-1982.html
Don't miss this, Diego!

I hear a big Rainbow influence in Grand Magus, and in JBs sometime other band Spiritual Beggars too.
Both modern(ish) bands, but very relevant to this thread nonetheless.
Also, i hear JR Blackmore's stuff is very much in the Rainbow mould, but i've yet to hear anything by him personally.

Good people from my neighbourhood: Moahni Moahna - The Quest for the Unholy Sword (1992)

(The bassist is the guy who helped us record the ol' Epic Irae tapes back in 1989-92. Very Happy ...and of course guitarrist Henrik Flyman used to play with us now and then, and buy us beer before we were of age. Laughing )

More obvious influences here I guess: Moahni Moahna - Queen Shamar (1994)

I also love Rainbow;ish bands.
...and I say Terra Rosa!

The ex-Terra Rosa vocalist Kazue Akao and guitarist Hiromi Suzuki recently unioned Kruberablinka, and it sounds like almost Terra Rosa!

How can it be underrated if you can't even find it anywhere? Either on vinyl or the internet.
I've heard about this band more than once over the years but I've never seen it anywhere.

Maybe they are underrated by the bootleggers? I found my copy at a local fleamarket in the late nineties so the previous owner obviously underrated it too. Very Happy

"Something In The Air" has been on ebay for cheap many times in the past.
