...a.k.a. Metal Archives has in later years grown into THE #1 Metallic
information data base. Need bandname for that tile? A tracklist for
that demo? A cover for that album? It's all there. Why not join the
M-A community and contribute with your own wisdom?
The Metalpage is currently the best and most happening website for fans
and collectors of rare Metal. Countless reviews in both German and English,
a forum for Metallic issues, as well as host of the Collector's Ring, which any serious collector should
join a s a p. Loads of esoteric Metalinfo here for everyone. Highly
recommended!

...is back! Internet's first Metal Collector-site has returned, this time concentrating solely on rare CDs and demos. Quite uncharted territory, so while me might miss their old vinyl-antics this is still a very welcomed, new source of information.

A great, openminded webzine with tons of reviews and interviews
of all kinds of Metal bands. The thing that makes V.O.D. one of the
most essential Metal-sites on the internet is however their Classic
Albums-section. Here you can listen to c:a 1000 classic and/or rare
80's Metal albums in RealAudio format. U owe me BIGTIME for this link
man!

...write about a wide spectra of rock music, new and old, but
the emphasis seem to be on Metal, at least judging by their book-releases.
The amount of time they've put into this data base is mindblowing!

A great place to look if you need some quick info on any, not
too obscure Metal band from the 80's up 'til now. Some pretty massive
work behind this classic page!

An ambitious and well made Japanese collector site. Not much
to read unless you know Japanese, but the very extensive review
pages supplies cover pics, release date and homecountry on tons
of rare Metal.

Rauol Sanchez' old Metal Labels Database that later became the foundation and starting point of The Corroseum's Olde Metal Labels Index. All of its info and more should be included here at The Corroseum, but this is where it all started.

Although the webzine-part of FS is put on ice, the Label Special include some indexes of labels not represented in the link above, like Azra, Banzai, OPM etc.. though some other lists there have now been incorporated in my own label project with permission.

All written in Japanese and very disorganized but the reviews (vinyl & CD) include some titles I've never seen anywhere else. Includes Mausoleum- and Ebony Records specials.
Shitloads of reviews of all things Thrash, w/ the emphasis on the 80's/early 90's.
Need tips for your wantlist? Here's where to go.
Peter Ott's Label List
A 150+ list of label discographies, mostly covering the Black/Death/Thrash-side of Metal. Bloody impressive work from Mr Ott if you ask me.
The only (?) mag/webzine totally dedicated to women in Metal/Hard Rock!
Loads of reviews/reports/bios on anything from ACID to PAT BENATAR to
MANHOLE, plus a handy little Metal Maidens Encyclopedia. The Back To The Past-section includes lengthy bios on loads of classic, "womynized" 80's bands.

This Singaporean page is dedicated to rare and exotic old Black/Death/Thrash
stuff from the 80's and early 90's. Some very well written reviews on
the most obscure titles of the genre, as well as a few classic metal
CD-reviews. There's also a unique in-depth article on the history of Singapore Metal (with the emphasis on black/death) worthy of checking out. Too bad the site seem dead since ages..
A Mexican fan-site dedicated to the German GAMA / Scratch / Hot Blood
/ Scratchcore / Tales Of Thrash label-family. Pix, discogs, bios etc..

A truly unmatched effort from the professor of Exotic Metal, Rainer
Krukenberg! A very extensive guide to Latin American metal, with hundreds
of band- and record reviews, scene reports and photos. Essential reading!

A complete (?) guide to Metal from the land of a thousand lakes
(that's Finland), spanning the years 197?-1999. The guys from the legendary
Isten fanzine has made what is probably the best Metal-encyclopedia
on the internet, written with wit, humor and attitude. If only there
were a site like this for every country in the world...

Strillo Strano is an Italian site documenting the italian rock scene.
Includes anything from folk & jazz to old and new Metal. So far
they seem to have put down the most effort in the 80's
Metal section, thank god! Mosty written in Italian, but still lots
of info on rare Italian vinyl and demos, w/ pics, lineups, discographies
etc.

A new Italian contender aspiring to make the ultimate Italian Metal Encyclopedia and they're good on the way of succeeding! Indexes on bands, albums/demos (listed by year-of-release) and labels. For more up-to-date Italian Metal-news, go directly to their main page.
Metal Made In Germany
Yes, it's about German Metal and yes, it's all in German, but it has some nice perks, like beautiful scans of the logos of all bands included and you can seach bands by region and city. Best German Metal trivia-site so far.

An AMAZING site for anyone into the old French Metal scene. This site has it all - an extensive encyclopedia on loads of classic as well as obscure 80's bands including bios & discogs, a huge video-library of the same, a fanzine/mag-library with complete scans of tons of old French Metal rags, old posters, tickets, even a buch of custom wallpapers for the truly obsessed! All written in French of course, but no one's perfect.

French Metal
hero Shreut updates his blog several times a week w/ rare French Metal
vinyl, demo and live recordings for download and you should get down
on your fucking knees and thank him for this great effort. Or start
your own blog..
DES 45 TOURS DE HARD ROCK FRANCAIS
Even more French Metal - and undergrounderer than ever! This page contains (almost) every French Hard Rock/Metal 7" released between
the late 70's up until the early 90's, complete w/ large cover scans and a 30-second clip from each single = hours of good, Heavy fun! This is merely one page from a larger site dealing with most classic/underground rock-genres, so the openminded should definitely do some clickin' around.

A great Danish encyclopedian Metal site! Lots of info on rare
vinyls & demos. Pics, line-ups and discog's, but not that many biographies
unfortunately.

An ambitious and long-awaited Dutch Metal encyclopedia. I'm really looking
forward to see how this develops, since there's tons of bands on that
band-list I've never heard of. Let's see some updates, guys!
80's BELGIAN METAL
One of my favourite
Metal countries! Loads of band you never heard of before (both demo- & vinyl acts) and looong bios on most of them + a neat list of rare Belgian Metal YouTube-clips. Run by the guys behind the Den Of Iniquity zine.

This article has been around for a while, but in case you haven't seen
it already, this is still the most comprehensive guide to the surprisingly
small, old Greek Metal scene. Made by the guys behind the Steel Conjuring
and Singing Swords fanzines.
Total JPN-Metal collector porn! All in japanese ofcourse, and quite
a bitch to navigate through, but here's a good place to start if you wanna jerk off to the most
impossible-to-find Japanese Steel. (click the "page"-links). This looks like the encyclopedia-part, and here's some pics of rare merch and signed stuff.
GARDEN OF JAPANESE HARD ROCK AND HEAVY METAL 1970 - 1996
An index of rare EPs, LPs, demos and CDs. Pictures, titles, label & year of release info, courtesy of Last Witch Records. Well worth checking out for some unique content.
SCANDINAVIAN METAL FOREST

A Japanese page with focus on old Hard Rock and Heavy Metal from the Scandinavian countries. As usual all written in Japanese, but it's a cool index site with plenty of rare vinyls I've never seen before, once again by Last Witch Records.

Though the site is sublabeled "Irish Punk & New Wave Discography" it does attempt to cover all forms of old underground rock from Ireland and includes just about any of the old bands you could think of, plus several frightfully obscure and basically unknow acts. A well reseached, easy-to-navigate site well worth a visit.
Era Rock Kapak

Huge blog covering the Malaysian (and Singapore?) Hard Rock/Metal scene, or at least its artists and their discographies. All written in Malay, but you get tape and CD cover scans, line-ups and craploads of streaming audio for your listening pleasure. Among the quadrillion dreadful ballads there's actually the odd Metal song or 2 worth digging out.
"Lawless' Soviet Metal Collection"

If you're one of the lucky ones who speak Russian I'm sure you'll find more, meaty CCCP Pok-trivia at Mastersland or Metalrus, but for us mere mortals who are just looking for some good ol' collector-porn this page is the shit. (Almost) every HM/HR vinyl released in Old Soviet and Russia depicted on one large, beautiful page. Click around and more goodies will befall you.
HEAVY METAL en Espaņa
Seems to be part of a broader "underground music" site. As
close to a Spanish Metal special as I've seen on the web. All written in
Spanish and plenty of bands missing, but it does include some
discogs, pictures, line-ups and other helpful trivia.

...formerly known as www.nwobhm.com. A very helpful site if you're
into the NWOBHM. Discographies, pics & tracklists on most of the
bands of the era, big or small. No bio's or reviews though:-(
Mr. Arc's NWOBHM gallery
The ultimate porn-site for NWOBHM-fetishists! Loads of pictures of those
magical NWOBHM-artifacts. Dribble, drewl and even more dribble....

The Australian Metal Guide has now transformed into a Wiki. Still a great site for anyone needing
info on the OZ Metal scene. Informative pages on both 80's and contemporary
bands, including anything from ROSE TATTOO to DESTROYER 666 to ZEN VENOM.

...a.k.a. www.ostmetal.de, specializes in East-German Metal trivia
and is chock-full of info on just about every band that ever recorded
anything from the 80's and forward (demos, radio-sessions, records etc)
as well as articles on the history of East German rock and much more.
Unfortunately it's all written in German :(
Some good news is they've started a label, rereleasing old Ostmetal curiosities on CD.
CROATIAN METAL HISTORY
...deals with (you guessed it) the Croatian Metal scene in the 80's
and 90's, including both classic Metal, Hard Rock, Thrash and Death
Metal acts. Unfortunately the layout is so bad you get a headache and
the long (and probably very interesting) article about the history of
the scene could have been presented in better manners than "hey, let's
see how much text we can cram onto one page! Wow that's A LOT!". Some
cool pics and songs for download though. Looking forward to see how
it develops.

Great site with the focus on the old Texas Metal scene. Band profiles, plenty of interviews (MILITIA, NECROVORE, SOLITUDE AETURNUS, RIPPER etc, etc..), clips of old cult demos, galleries of old flyers, records, T-shirts and more. Any site that interviews The Mighty RIPPER is a friend of The Corroseum.

A very ambitious site out to document the whole 80's rock scene of Detroit,
concentrating on the bands and the clubs. All forms of rock are included,
but there's plenty of old unknown Metal bands w/ shitloads of cool pix
& mp3s to check out. Definitely worth a few hours of your time.
Cuban
Underground Musicians
The only page I've found featuring any info on old Cuban Metal. It includes
all forms of "underground" bands, but among them are a couple
of Metal acts that look interresting.

Venezuela's greatest Heavy Metal heroes next to
Resistencia! Total NWOBHM-style Hard Rock Holocaust! I dare you to
download all their albums from their mp3 section and call me a
liar.

The new official BATHORY-site is something as rare as
an impressive and very informative homepage on a major band. The
"History Archive" is essential reading. I'm looking forward to the
hardcover version.

One of my all-time fave Heavy Metal acts. No comments
necessary.

One of the most original and exciting NWOBHM-bands ever
are now on-line for the Metal-world to explore and marvel at. Download
their complete album from this page and be amazed!

Looks like it's been up since summer-'07 but it was only just recently that I became aware of this great fanpage of Finland's "#2". Everything you'd ever want from a fansite of such a distinguished act.

One of
the NWOBHM-scenes best kept secrets. Totally incredible Epic Doom Metal
from beyond the grave! A level of originality and class that would have
destroyed many of the so called "classic" bands of the genre, had they
only gotten out of bleedin' England.

If my interview passed you by, go directly to their homepage
for more info on this legendary Venezuelan Heavy Metal band (written in
Spanish). Click the "Musica"-link and download their complete
discography, including the killer '81 demo (!)

One of the most underestimated bands in Metal history.
Their "Of The Sun + Moon" LP should be as revered as "Defenders Of The
Faith", "Into Battle", "The Number Of The Beast", "Sign Of The Hammer"
etc etc... Don't be a dumbass, go there NOW!
Unbelievable! The Gods Have Returned!! If you call yourself a
Metalhead and fan of early, obscure HEAVY Metal you need to check out
these Finnish masters today!
